Gate Five is back with another serving of intricate and interestingly articulated music. Designed to invoke a sense of calm amongst an otherworldly presence, Zahalla Groove takes the user on a trip through an assortment of texture and timbre. The EP embarks with a subtle groover, which makes the ears pop into action, to then be massaged by a glorious palette of organic sounding drums and warm bass tones. The second half of the EP presents sonic ephemerality, as sound is met by sound after sound, all merging into a seamless and consistently satisfying whole.
What genre is it? We don’t know, trip hop? Techno? Beats? Breaks? Perhaps it is genre unbound… we kinda like it that way.
